PORTLAND, Ore. -- Oregon's natural beauty is being showcased in a colorful new video.
The creators, from Travel Oregon and Wieden+Kennedy, say the whole point of the video is to show people that Oregon is the place to visit and unwind.
Watch the video and it looks like a world straight out of fantasy book, all flashing before your eyes to a soundtrack featuring the Oregon Symphony.
But pay attention and you'll see the scenes are real places in Oregon mixed with a little magic.
“That's cute. That's pretty. The tulips are cute,” said Elise and Robin Barker as they watched the video. They’re tourists from Texas.
When the Barkers saw the clip, they were enthralled. They weren't alone.
“Wow I love how dreamy it is. It's very dreamy,” said Nihar Madhavan, who’s visiting Portland from San Francisco.
If you watch it, it may just inspire you to come to Oregon. Or for current residents, it could make them want to visit the state's gems.
“It's really about folks seeing this ad and rediscovering that childlike sense of wonder,” said Travel Oregon CEO Todd Davidson.
“Hopefully people get the feeling of Oregon when they experience this film,” said Angela Jones, who is part of strategic planning at Wieden+Kennedy.
The video is only adding to Oregon's popularity. Davidson said in 2016 the state's travel industry brought in $11.3 billion.
International travelers made up a significant part of that.
Yuki Makimura is in Portland from Japan. He said he thinks the video will bring people to Oregon.
“It's good because Japanese people love anime,” Makimura said.
For prospective tourists, the video also puts a bug in their ear that Oregon is a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
That's exactly why the Barkers took a trip to Oregon.
“I think we're going to be driving a lot,” laughed Elise Barker. The plan for her and her family is to visit many of the signature sights across the state.
