NEWBERG, Ore. — The bodies of two Newberg men who went missing after an argument Sunday night were later found near a boat launch in the Willamette River, according to a statement from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department.

Police received a missing persons report Monday from the families of Benigno Hermenegildo-Pascuala, 40, and Eufracio Lopez de Jesus, 39. They said that the two men were last seen the night before in Newberg, and witnesess reported that they had been in a "heated argument."

Using cell phone data and surveillance footage, investigators tracked the two men to Roger's Landing County Park. On Tuesday, investigators found an oil sheen on the surface of the Willamette River just in front of the park boat launch.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue used an underwater camera, finding Benigno's vehicle in the water just beyond the boat launch. The Lake Oswego Fire Department's dive team helped in pulling the car from the water.

Inside were both Benigno and Eufracio, dead. Police said that they do not yet know how the vehicle ended up in the water, or what preceded that event.
