ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) - Columbia Memorial Hospital and Oregon Health & Science University's Knight Cancer Institute say they're planning to build a new cancer treatment center in Astoria, Oregon.
The hospitals say the collaborative expands its existing chemotherapy treatment services and provide radiation therapy close to home for patients who currently have to drive at least an hour to get services.
The Daily Astorian says the announcement was made Saturday night. Construction on the 18,000-square-foot facility will begin next year.
