Multiple gunshots fired in Southeast Portland Friday night

Portland police responded to many reports of shots fired near Southeast 154th Avenue and Division Street.

PORTLAND, Oregon — On Friday afternoon, multiple gunshots were reported in Southeast Portland, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).

At around 6:34 p.m., officers responded to many reports of shots fired near Southeast 154th and Division Street. Officers found that dozens of shots were fired hitting cars, homes and other objects. There were no reported injuries, police said.

At 6:39 p.m., PPB found a possible suspect car in which the driver failed to stop and pull over. Officers had to spike tires in order to get them to stop. They determined the driver was not involved in the shooting.

At 10:13 p.m., officers found another potential car belonging to a suspect near Southeast 146th and Stark Street headed east into Gresham, according to PPB, which led to a pursuit.

At 10:17 p.m., officers stopped the car near Southeast 187th and Yamhill Street. The suspect, 28-year-old Maurice Tyrell Boyd was arrested but at this time, police say it's unknown if he was related to the shooting. A gun was recovered and Boyd was charged with other crimes unrelated to the shooting.
