GRESHAM, Ore. — Two siblings, ages 10 and 12, didn't return to their Gresham home after school on May 28, and Gresham police asked the public to help find the missing children.

The children were found unharmed on June 5, according to the Gresham Police Department.

The older of the two, a 12-year-old girl, was last seen at H.B. Lee Middle School, located on Northeast 172nd Avenue in Portland. She was described as being 5 feet, 6 inches and weighing 190 pounds, according to family, and was last seen wearing a blue NASCAR sweatshirt and matching blue NASCAR sweatpants.

The 10-year-old boy, was last seen at Glenfair Elementary School, located on Northeast Glisan Street in Portland. He was described as being 5 feet, 4 inches and weighing 100 pounds. Family said he was last seen wearing a gray and white Tupac T-shirt and blue jeans.

Police said the children's mother received reports that the siblings had been seen with extended family and friends.

“Kids that run away sometimes tell friends and family they have no place to stay or their living situation is not safe,” explained Officer Jarom Sweazey, who has worked in youth services for more than 13 years. “We investigate reports of neglect or abuse but they do not permit you to harbor someone else’s child."
