PORTLAND, Ore. — Officials continue the search for a hiker and their two dogs who have reportedly been missing around the Mount Hood National Forest near Welches since Friday, Clackamas County Sheriff's office said.

Sixty-one-year-old Susan "Phoenix" Lane-Fournier, a Brightwood resident, was reported missing after failing to show at work on Friday. Deputies searched her residence but did not locate her. The next day, a community member spotted her car, a white 1992 Ford F-250, parked along East Salmon River Road near the Green Canyon Way Trail south of Welches.

She is believed to have been hiking with her two large Malinois-mix dogs, CCSO said.

Multiple agencies of search and rescue, K9 teams and volunteers searched the area over the weekend but had no luck. A search party resumes Monday for Lane-Fournier and her two dogs.

Lane-Fournier is 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighs around 150 pounds and has reddish-brown hair. While, Lane-Fournier is familiar with the hiking area, it is not known if was prepared to stay out overnight. Temperatures in the area have dropped into the 30s with light rain, CCSO said.

Anyone who has seen Lane-Fournier, her two dogs or have any information that could help locate her is asked to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency dispatch line at 503-655-8211.

This is a developing story and will be updated with more details as they emerge.
