SALEM, Ore. – Salem police said a missing, endangered 15-year-old girl who ran away from a foster home on Aug. 13 was found safe on Wednesday night.

Someone spotted Bethany Desanto near Portland Road N.E. and Hayesville Drive and called the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies took Desanto into custody and returned her to the Department of Human Services.

Police said Desanto was previously taken into protective custody on Aug. 12 after she was found living with her homeless mother in Salem's Minto Brown Island Park.

Desanto was placed in the custody of the Department of Human Services, who later put her in a North Salem foster home. Desanto ran away from that foster home on Aug. 13., according to authorities.

Police were worried she may have been at a homeless camp or another dangerous area.
