A man is dead after being hit by a passenger train Thursday evening, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).
At 6 p.m., officers responded to reports of a pedestrian who had been struck by a train at the intersection of Northwest Sherlock Avenue and Northwest Nicolai Street. When they arrived, they found the man, who has not been identified, dead.
PPB's Major Crash Team has responded to the scene to investigate; Northwest Nicolai Street will be closed in the immediate area, PPB said.
