HILLSBORO, Oregon — A man charged with sexually assaulting an unconscious woman at a Hillsboro Trimet station will remain in jail ahead of his trial.
The attorney for Eduardo Madrid-Roque did not contest a motion by prosecutors to keep him in the Washington County Jail. Madrid-Roque made a court appearance by video in Washington County on Wednesday morning.
Madrid-Roque sexually assaulted a woman who had passed out at the Hillsboro Central Transit Station on June 14, 2023, according to prosecutors.
The 63-year-old woman was traveling from California to Portland for a family member’s graduation, when she experienced an unintended reaction to prescription medication and alcohol. The assault lasted about 30 minutes and was captured on TriMet security cameras, according to court documents obtained by KGW.
Madrid-Roque faces 11 charges related to the assault. He has been convicted on multiple charges before, including felony assault in 2014 for punching his girlfriend in the head multiple times while she was holding their one-year-old child.
He was convicted for assaulting the same woman again in 2016. Authorities say he also threatened her family if they told police about the incident. He spent 13 months behind bars for that conviction. He was also convicted of public indecency in 2014 and resisting arrest in 2019.
Madrid-Roque is due back in court on May 6.
