Local teens will speak at TEDxYouth

Teens from five different high schools will talk about this year's theme: revolutionary.

Want to get inspired this weekend? Just head to this year’s TEDxYouth Portland. Every year there is a different theme and this year’s theme is revolutionary. 

There will be eight different speakers this year who will be talking about everything from social media to science.

Tasneem Sarkez who’s a senior at Lincoln High School is going to discuss how the culture of Muslim women is changing.

Other speakers include Aarna Dixit from Sunset High School, Danica Leung from Lincoln High School, Mithra Karamchedu from Jesuit High School, Reyna Ayala from Beaverton High School, Soumik Chakraborty from Jesuit, Tarun Narahari from Westview High School, Tasneem Sarkez from Lincoln, and Vedanth Iyer from Sunset.

Organizers say they expect to have anywhere from one hundred fifty people to two hundred in attendance. Tickets are still available for tomorrow’s presentation at the University of Oregon White Stag Block.
