PORTLAND, Ore. — Approximately 60 people were reportedly involved in a large fight between members of the right-wing group Patriot Prayer and left-wing Antifa to end an otherwise peaceful May Day.
Police responded to reports of a large disturbance near the Cider Riot Bar in the area of Northeast 8th Avenue and Northeast Couch Street. Officers were told the fight broke out Wednesday about 7:30 p.m. outside the bar.
Someone may have used mace during the fight, and one person was unconscious, police were told.
By the time officers arrived, the two groups had already separated. No one was found unconscious, police said, and no one was willing to identify themselves as a victim or file a police report.
Police said this is still an open investigation and detectives will review any and all video of the event. Anyone with information or video footage is asked to contact Portland police at 503-823-3333.
