EUGENE, Ore. -- The stepmother of missing Portland boy Kyron Horman has been hired as a mental health specialist for a Eugene company

As first reported by The Oregonian, residential care company Shangri-La Corp. announced Friday that Terri Moulton Horman had been hired.

"Terri Moulton Horman applied for a Mental Health Support Specialist position at Shangri-La in November, 2014," said spokeswoman Karen Rutledge. She added that Moulton-Horman would "provide training and supports to adults who have chronic mental illness in a 24-hour supervised setting."

Moulton-Horman's stepson Kyron disappeared from Skyline Elementary School after she took him to school on June 4, 2010. Investigators believe Terri was the last person to see him. He still has not been found.

For years Terri was a focus of the criminal investigation, but she was never arrested. Her husband at the time of Kyron's disappearance, the boy's father Kaine Horman, filed for divorce after investigators turned their attention to Terri.

The two were divorced last year. Terri tried twice to change her name since then.

"Shangri-La hired Moulton Horman and has retained her with the belief that she will provide beneficial services on behalf of the organization, and that she does not pose any potential risk to others," Rutledge's statement read. "Shangri-La works to promote a culture of acceptance, trust and compassion. We believe our actions reflect these deeply held beliefs."
