CEDAR HILLS, Ore. — A house in Cedar Hills went up in flames Wednesday afternoon, sending one person to the hospital and claiming the life of a dog.
Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue (TVF&R) were able to control the fire within 30 minutes of arriving on scene; however, flames heavily damaged the home, and officials declared it a "complete loss."
The one person inside the house at the time sustained severe burns and was transported to the hospital to be evaluated further, while one dog was found to be deceased at the scene.
A fire investigator determined on the scene that the fire was accidental.
American Medical Response (AMR) and the Washington County Sheriff's Department, as well as Pacific General Electric and Northwest Natural Gas, assisted firefighters.
The name of the person who was injured in the fire is not available at this time.
