PORTLAND, Ore. — Weeks before the November election, Hillary Rodham Clinton will stop in Portland as part of a nationwide book tour.

On Monday at 7 p.m., Clinton will be promoting her new book, "Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love and Liberty," at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.

“At each event, Secretary Clinton and a moderator will take the audience on a journey of unvarnished exchanges on politics, democracy, the threats we face, as well as friendship, aging, marriage, and how we can all work together to shape a future to be proud of,” her website states.

The memoir offers Clinton's "candid views on life and love, politics, liberty, democracy, the threats we face, and the future within our reach." It is the latest in the 11 books published by the former U.S. secretary of state and first lady.

Local organizations — BAYAN Oregon, the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP), and the International Women's Alliance (IWA) — are set to protest Clinton, with a rally at Shemanski Park, then at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.

"Protestors will rally to oppose Clinton's long career advancing anti-people foreign policies that still have a deadly impact today," the groups said in a statement.

Clinton was the first woman to be nominated for president by a major political party in 2016, while running against Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump in 2016, and the first woman to win by popular vote. She has nearly 40 years in public service, including as U.S. secretary of state under then-President Barack Obama, a U.S. senator representing New York, first lady and attorney.
