Astoria man killed in Highway 30 crash

Douglas Morgan, of Astoria, was headed westbound when another driver crossed over into his lane and crashed into his car, according to Oregon State Police. Morgan died at the scene.

ASTORIA, Ore. -- A 54-year-old man died in a two-vehicle crash near Astoria Sunday afternoon.

Troopers were called just before 2 p.m. to the crash on Highway 30 near milepost 94.

Douglas Morgan, of Astoria, was headed westbound when another driver crossed over into his lane and crashed into his car, according to Oregon State Police. Morgan died at the scene.

The other driver, 44-year-old Lori Courtwright from Warrenton, was flown to a Portland-area hospital with serious injuries.

Highway 30 was closed for about three hours. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
