HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. — Law enforcement agencies in Happy Valley are searching for a missing man who was last seen leaving his care home Wednesday morning.

Around 11:45 a.m., 77-year-old Richard Steurer left for a walk around his care home near Southeast Greiner Lane and Southeast Central Park Court, but never returned. He has no vehicle or cell phone, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said.

Due to Steurer's age and medical conditions that include cognitive issues, CCSO said deputies are concerned that it may be difficult for him to find his way home.

Surveillance video shows Steurer leaving wearing black shoes, black pants and a plaid flannel shirt. He is 5-foot, 8-inches tall and weighs 170 pounds, with green eyes and longer gray hair.

Happy Valley Police Department and CCSO searched the area Wednesday night using K9 units, officers on the ground, vehicles and drones. CCSO is asking anyone with a doorbell camera or other household surveillance cameras in the area to check the recording for any sightings of Steurer.

If located, contact the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office or the Happy Valley Police Department at 503-655-8211 or call 911.
