GRESHAM, Ore. — A shelter-in-place advisory in a Gresham neighborhood has been lifted after police arrested an armed and wanted suspect. Gresham police announced at around 6:45 p.m. that the suspect had been located with assistance from drones and K9 teams.
During the search, Gresham police had asked people nearby to stay indoors in the area around Northeast 195th Avenue and Northeast Clackamas Street.
The man fled into the neighborhood while officers attempted to arrest him. The man was wanted for multiple violent crimes, police said, but did not release any other details.
People in the area were asked to shelter in place and call 911 if they saw anything suspicious. Streets in the area were also closed while they searched.
