PORTLAND, Ore. — KGW is excited to host two great recycling events. First is a KGW Shred Day, coming up on Tuesday, April 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at KGW. Viewers are encouraged to bring one bag of documents to shred. This free service is being provided by Shred NW, a leading local shredding company.
In addition, KGW will participate in FREE GEEK's #TechNow campaign on Friday, April 26 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at KGW. Viewers can drop off old laptops, phones or tablets and FREE GEEK will clean them, securely wipe the hard drive, and refurbish or safely recycle them.
SHRED DAY
Tuesday, April 23 from 4-7 p.m. at KGW
If you're bringing documents to shred there are a few do's and don'ts:
Acceptable to shred:
- 1 banker box of material
- Paperclips
- Binder clips
- Hanging file folders
- Staples
NOT acceptable to shred:
- 3-ring binders
- Wet or moldy paper
- Cardboard
- Plastic
- Garbage (tissues, paper towels, masks, etc.)
E-RECYCLE DAY
Friday, April 26 from 4-7 p.m. at KGW
Drop off old laptops, tablets and phones. Donations do not need to have data wiped prior to drop-off.
