PORTLAND, Ore. -- Federal investigators have determined that former U.S. Attorney for Oregon Amanda Marshall violated laws on sexual harassment stemming from a year-long "intimate personal relationship" with a subordinate.
Marshall resigned in April of 2015 for what she described as health problems lasting several months. She was named to the post in September of 2011.
In summary findings released Tuesday, the Office of Inspector General determined that Marshall "violated laws and regulations against sexual harassment."
The IG report said Marshall did not acknowledge the relationship and continued to participate in cases involving the subordinate. She lied about the relationship when first confronted, then violated instructions not to have contact with the subordinate.
The IG summary said the results have to turned over to the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Professional Responsibility to determine if the violated bar standards.
