TIGARD, Ore. -- A combative woman was cited for DUII and accused of drug violations following a crash early Sunday morning on the Interstate 5 off-ramp to Kruse Way and Oregon 217.

A sheriff's deputy witnessed the crash at 1:13 a.m. The suspect vehicle was southbound on the off-ramp when police believe the driver ran a red light and struck a car that had left 217 and was entering the intersection with Kruse Way.

The driver and a passenger in the car that was struck were not injured. A rear passenger had to be removed with assistance from emergency crews. He was taken to a hospital, treated and released.

Police immediately suspected the driver of being under the influence of a drug that impaired her driving. She was taken to a hospital, treated, then released to police custody. She fought with officers on the way to jail and police later learned she had initially provided a false name.

Hailey Elden, 21, of Tigard was cited for DUII. She was also accused of reckless driving, fourth-degree assault, possession of a controlled substance heroin, resisting arrest and providing false information to police. She also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a previous heroin charge.
