PORTLAND, Ore. — A fatal head-on crash closed Oregon 551, the Portland-Hubbard Highway, in Clackamas County as it approaches Interstate 5.
The crash near Langdon Farms golf course was after midnight, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
A Toyota Camry driven by Kelsie Martin, 29, of Beavercreek, was northbound on the highway and crossed the centerline, according to the Oregon State Police.
Martin struck a southbound Toyota Prius driven by Stephanie Patricio, 33, of Woodburn. Patricio died at the scene and Martin was airlifted to a hospital in serious condition, police said.
"Alcohol impairment by Martin is suspected as a contributing factor," the OSP said in prepared statement.
The highway was reopened about 7 a.m.
