HILLSBORO, Ore. — Officers are investigating a deadly crash that happened on Southwest Baseline Street and Southwest Dennis Avenue in Hillsboro early Wednesday morning.
The Hillsboro Police Department said Sunday that Oscar Gongora-Lopez, 44, was killed in the crash. Gongora-Lopez had lost control of his vehicle and collided with a nearby tree.
Around 4:30 a.m., Hillsboro police shared a post on social media about the crash, saying Southwest Baseline Street was closed between Southwest Dennis Avenue and Southwest Adams Avenue. At 6:30 a.m., a tow truck was on scene, and just before 7 a.m., the street was reopened.
The crash involved a single vehicle. Hillsboro police have not released any details about what happened leading up to the crash.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated by the Washington County Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Team (CART) as of Sunday.
