MAUPIN, Ore. -- A motorcyclist was critically injured Sunday when his fabric saddlebag got caught in a wheel on Oregon 216 in Central Oregon.
Arthur Brandon Kem, 45, of Gresham, was eastbound near Warm Springs at about 11:45 a.m. when the saddlebag slipped off the bike and got tangled in the rear wheel, according to Oregon State Police.
Kem lost control of the bike and crashed.
He was taken by LifeFlight to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend with severe head injuries. He was listed in critical condition Monday afternoon. Police said Kem was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
OSP was assisted by the Wasco County Sheriff's Office, the Juniper Flat Rural Fire Department, South Wasco County Ambulance Service and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
