Body found floating in Depoe Bay on Oregon Coast prompts investigation

A man's body was found near Depoe Bay Harbor. He hasn't been identified, but no "suspicious" circumstances have been determined, the sheriff's office said.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A male's body found floating near Depoe Bay Harbor on the Oregon Coast on Sunday has been recovered, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said. 

LCSO said the body appears to have been "exposed to the water" for a prolonged period of time. The man, who has not been identified, will be sent to the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office.

Currently, no suspicious circumstances have been determined and there is no concern for public safety, LCSO said. 

Members of the United States Coast Guard, stationed in Depoe Bay, alerted Lincoln County Sheriff's Office that they saw a floating body and assisted in retrieving the remains.
