PORTLAND, Oregon — A bicyclist who was hit by a vehicle in Southwest Portland earlier this month has died, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) said on Monday.
On March 12, Jonathan Henderson, 40, was hit by a vehicle near Southeast Alder Street and Southwest Third Avenue, according to PPB. A preliminary investigation shows Henderson entered the intersection against a red light and was hit by the vehicle, which had a green light.
Nearly a week after the crash, Henderson died from injuries at a local hospital on March 18. PPB provided the update in a news release on March 25.
The driver of the vehicle has been cooperative and police have not made any arrests or citations in the case, PPB said.
The incident is the second bicyclist death in Portland so far this year, according to PPB.
