PORTLAND, Ore. — With spooky season almost upon us, Bella Organic Farm on Sauvie Island has announced that this year's corn maze design will have a special theme: Teacher appreciation.
The maze's design spells out "Thank You Teachers."
"To all teachers, administrators, and school staff members- thank you," Bella Organics said in a news release. "The impact you leave on our communities goes well beyond the classroom."
In addition to the dedication, all school staff members in Oregon will get free admission to this season's regular corn maze from Aug. 31 - Oct. 31; just show your school identification.
"Whether you are currently a student, you’re a former student, or you have kids in school now, the impact our teachers leave is more than solving math problems," Bella Organics said. "For 8+ hours a day, about 9 months of the year, they shape us into the adults that we become during our most formative years. Teachers support our students day in and day out, help raise our kids, and leave a lifelong mark on each and every one of us.
"Many teachers go beyond the traditional role of teaching: they act as counselors, mentors, and even surrogate parents, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to their students’ overall well-being and success."
Bella Organic Farm's corn maze runs daily through Aug. 31 - Oct. 31. See hours below:
- Aug. 31-Sept. 27 hours: daily 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Sept. 28-Oct 30. hours: Sunday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday & Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Oct. 31 hours: Open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m
Pumpkin patch and other festivities, including hayrides, start Sept. 28 through Oct. 31.
