New affordable housing development opens in St. Helens

ST. HELENS, Ore. — A new affordable housing community opened its doors in St. Helens on Tuesday. Broadleaf Arbor is located on 16-acre site near Gable Road and Highway 30. 

The development is described as a community for all ages with intentionally designed amenities to bring people of different generations together. It was designed with a focus on learning, health and wellness, and arts and creativity, according to its website.

 The campus has bocce ball courts, a trail system along existing wetlands, shared outdoor spaces including a playground and community garden, a library, and a teaching kitchen. There are also resident services and programs provided by the organization EngAGE Northwest

Broadleaf Arbor is an 11-building complex made up of 239 units with one, two and three-bedrooms available. 

The development is open to households that make 30-60% of the area median income. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the median household income in St. Helens is $77,475. Anyone interested can join Broadleaf Arbor's waitlist on their website.
