PORTLAND, Oregon — Well, here we are, with about one week until Christmas, some are scrambling to find the perfect gift for loved ones. With most holiday events officially launched, things are looking jolly. This weekend, it's all about all things festive from Peacock Lane, an outdoor ice skating rink, SantaCon and more.
SantaCon
When: Dec. 16, 4 p.m.
Where: Ankeny Alley Plaza, 221 Southwest Ankeny Street, Portland
What's going on: Stumptown SantaCon is a costume-themed dance festival with over dozens of participating locations across the Rose City. Most locations will have covered outdoor areas, DJs providing the holiday sounds and of course thousands of Santas dancing around Portland. All proceeds will go to local charities.
Outdoor ice rink and Woodsy Winter Village
When: Dec. 16 - Jan. 28, 2024
Where: Morrison Bridge, Portland
What's going on: Starting this Saturday, an outdoor ice rink and "Woodsy Winter Village" are opening up near the west end of the Morrison Bridge. The city's putting on the pop-up to encourage people to shop locally. If you spend at least $20 at any downtown retailer in December, then you get $5 off your skate ticket. The rink opens up with a ceremony on Saturday and will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. If all goes well, the Woodsy Winter Village will stay open until Jan. 28.
The North Pole At Eagle Crest
When: Dec. 15 - 17, 22
Where: 31727 Northeast Wilsonville Road, Newberg
What's going on: This is the last weekend for your chance to catch the Christmas display at Eagle Crest. You don't want to miss this magical experience. Bring the whole family to take a peek inside the North Pole present factory, see the reindeer and even get a chance to say hello to the polar bear family. No tickets or reservations required.
Santa Clones
When: Dec. 11 - Jan, 1, 2024
Where: Multiple locations, Portland
What's going on: Guess who's back? A Portland favorite: Santa Clones. The Santa Clones have officially made their return for the holiday season. They are lit up somewhere in Southeast Portland this year and larger in numbers. Over the years, Portland artist Chris Willis has collected the 1968 blow-mold 13-inch Santa Claus figurines. He has displayed them for the last few years in different locations around Portland. The installation will be lit from 4 p.m.-11 p.m. each day, now through Jan. 1, 2024.
Peacock Lane
When: Dec. 15 - 31
Where: Peacock Lane, Southeast Peacock Lane, Portland
What's going on: A Portland tradition returns this weekend: holiday lights on Peacock Lane. It is truly the most wonderful time of the year and the residents of Peacock Lane are excited to share their annual display of lights. Car-free nights are only this weekend from Dec. 15-17; you don't want to pass this one up. This year, visitors can enjoy the festive decorations and lights through Dec. 31.

A Pittock Mansion Christmas: Winter Wonderland
When: Nov. 19 - Jan. 4, 2024
Where: Pittock Mansion, 3229 Northwest Pittock Drive, Portland
What's going on: Portland's Pittock Mansion is currently decked up for the holidays. The house museum's annual Christmas display is the biggest attraction of the year for the nonprofit. The total cost is $16.50. The panoramic view from the mansion's park lawn is free and perhaps the biggest draw for visitors.
Top 5 Portland holiday light displays
When: Throughout the month of December
Where: Multiple locations across the Portland metro area
What's going on: This month is all about Christmas lights. Thankfully, there are five excellent holiday light displays all opening soon in and around the Portland metro area: Oregon ZooLights, Christmas Ships Parade, Peacock Lane, The Grotto Festival of Lights and Winter Wonderland.
Silverton Christmas Market
When: Nov. 17 - Dec. 31, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Oregon Garden Resort, 895 West Main Street, Silverton
What's going on: The Silverton Christmas Market at the Oregon Garden Resort will keep its holiday lights on through Dec. 31. The annual event first opened for the season the weekend after Thanksgiving, and the only nights it won't be open are Christmas Eve and Christmas. This year's event has more than one million lights set up along pathways that wind through the resort's property. The Silverton Christmas Market also features shopping opportunities, with handmade gifts from artisan vendors. There will also be a "snowless" tubing hill that attendees can check out. Tickets to the event are not available at the door. All admission tickets, along with tickets to ride down the snowless tubing hill, must be purchased online in advance on Silverton Christmas Market's website. Food and drink vendor booths are also cashless, so visitors are encouraged to bring a debit or credit card. Tickets range from $5 to $20.
