CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. — A 4-year-old is dead, and several people are injured after a crash Saturday afternoon, according to Oregon State Police.
Emergency crews responded to a two-car crash at 2:42 p.m. on Highway 211, near milepost 3, east of Woodburn in Clackamas County.
Investigators said Kakkera Geethanjali, 32, of Hillsboro was driving southbound on South Meridian Road and failed to stop at a stop sign. Geethanjali's car collided with the side of another car headed westbound on Highway 211, driven by 18-year-old Benjamin Hernandez-Lopez of Canby.
Geethanjali was transported to a hospital in critical condition, along with passengers Nareshbabu Kamathman, 36, and an 8-year-old boy who were seriously injured, Oregon State Police stated. The 4-year-old girl inside the car was declared dead at the scene.
Hernandez-Lopez and a 19-year-old passenger were also transported with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
