2 people dead in car crash in Salem

Salem police said no arrest or citations have yet been issued, and the crash is still under investigations.

SALEM, Oregon — Two people have died in a head-on collision on Monday, according to the Salem Police Department (SPD). 

At around 10:09 a.m., Salem police responded to reports of a crash involving two pick-up trucks on Cordon Road Southeast. The crash caused the road to be closed for several hours. 

The occupants in one of the trucks — 28-year-old Blanca Mariela Franco-Ramos of Mt. Angel and Heriberto Rangel-Rangel, 46, of Silverton — died upon the arrival of first responders. Three other adult occupants were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, according to SPD.

Salem police said no arrest or citations have yet been issued, and the crash is still under investigations.

This year alone, Salem police have responded to 18 deadly car crashes resulting in 19 deaths.
