2 dead after motorcycle crash on Portland's Morrison Bridge

Officers responded to a crash at Southeast Water Avenue and Southeast Morrison Street, where they found two people dead at the scene.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) is investigating a motorcycle crash on June 13 that resulted in the death of two people.

At 8:04 p.m., officers responded to a crash at Southeast Water Avenue and Southeast Morrison Street. When they arrived, they found two people dead at the scene, as well as a crashed motorcycle on the ramp from eastbound Morrison Bridge to northbound Interstate 5, according to PPB.

"Preliminary investigation suggests the rider and a passenger crashed and were thrown over the barrier onto a parking lot below," PPB said in a statement.

The two people have been identified as Nicholas James Munt-Herrera, 30, and Angelica Precious Camacho, 24.

No other vehicles were believed to be involved.

The Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team responded, and during the investigation, the ramp from eastbound Morrison Bridge to northbound Interstate 5 was closed. Southeast Water Avenue was also closed between Southeast Yamhill Street and Southeast Alder Street.

The Morrison Bridge opened in both directions, along with the ramp from the westbound Morrison Bridge onto the northbound Interstate 5. The ramp from the southbound Interstate 5 onto the Morrision Bridge into downtown Portland also opened.

This is the 24th and 25th traffic-related fatality this year in Portland, the fifth and sixth involving a motorcycle, according to PPB.
