Deadly crash closes eastbound lanes of Highway 30 near Scappoose

SCAPPOOSE, Ore. — One person is dead following a crash involving three vehicles on Highway 30 near Scappoose on Tuesday. All eastbound lanes of the highway are closed, according to the Scappoose Fire District.

The crash happened on the highway near Slavens Road in the town of Warren, just north of Scappoose. In a post on its Facebook page at around 5:39 a.m., Scappoose Fire confirmed that one person was killed. Scappoose Fire did not provide any details about what led up to the crash. The agency said law enforcement and personnel from the Oregon Department of Transportation are at the scene.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes to avoid major delays. The Scappoose School District said around 7:15 a.m. that school buses are running late due to the highway closure.
