HILLSBORO, Ore. — A 19-year-old driver involved in a deadly crash on Southwest River Road Friday night has been arrested.
Washington County Sheriff's Office reported a fatality as a result of the crash, which happened around 9:07 p.m. There were two teenage passengers related to the driver in the car; one of them passed away at the scene. The other is currently receiving treatment for severe injuries.
According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the driver, Jesse Granados-Villegas, was traveling at a high speed before losing control on a curve, rolling over, before crashing through a chain link fence. Granados-Villegas had minor injuries and was hospitalized, then was arrested and charged with manslaughter in the second degree, reckless driving and a DUII for marijuana.
He was taken to Washington County Jail.
The road between Southwest Farmington and Southwest Scholls Ferry roads was closed during the investigation and was reopened as of 7:13 a.m. Saturday.
