'You're Doing It Wrong' - at the gym

KGW's Reggie Aqui has a new segment called: ​"You're Doing It Wrong." The weekly Live at 7 segment will showcase everyday activities that just about all of us are doing incorrectly. We will team up with experts who can help us make small changes than can make a big difference.

Our first installment involves working out at the gym:

You only have 45 minutes to work out at the gym so you skip the warm-up. Sorry, you're already Doing It Wrong!

Then when you get to the free weights for bicep curls, your shoulders and elbows are ever-so-slightly rocking back and forth. Oops, that weight is too much. Here comes the ego blow…You're doing it wrong again! Any personal trainer worth his or her salt will help you to do better and avoid injury. That's great if you can afford one. We're here to help if you can't.

KGW's Reggie Aqui teamed up with Jason Yoder, Medical Exercise Consultant at OHSU's March Wellness and Fitness Center. Yoder leads us through several simple exercises just about all of us do at the gym to point out the most common mistakes and give us ways to fix them.
