  • The Oregon Air National Guard flew over hospitals in Oregon as a tribute to those working on the front line of COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more

  • The Oregon Zoo is considering what it will look like to reopen. In the meantime, they are asking for donations to help sustain them through further closure. Learn more

1:10 p.m.

  • The top health officer for Multnomah County said it could be three weeks or more before the county can apply to ease many restrictions under Gov. Kate Brown’s plan to reopen the state. Learn more
  • Three more people have died of COVID-19 in Oregon. The death toll in Oregon is now 124 people. Friday’s three reported deaths were three fewer than the six reported by state health officials on Thursday. Learn more
  • A group of Oregon churches and individuals, including as lead plaintiff the Elkhorn Baptist Church in Baker City, is suing Gov. Kate Brown claiming her executive orders imposing restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic are unconstitutional. Learn more

10:50 a.m.

  • TriMet will require all employees to wear face coverings while working on buses and trains starting next week. The new rule applies when employees cannot keep at least six feet between them and anyone else. Learn more
  • Nordstrom has announced that it will be permanently closing 16 stores while restructuring during the coronavirus pandemic. The Clackamas Town Center store was on the list of closures. Learn more

6:40 a.m.

  • The Oregon Air National Guard has planned a number of flyovers in Oregon to salute Oregonians and front-line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more
  • Summer camps may reopen May 15; large gatherings canceled until at least September in Oregon. Learn more
