PORTLAND, Ore. — The number of COVID-19 cases being reported at Oregon schools dropped in the most recent weekly report from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 18.
The number of Oregon schools reporting COVID-19 cases dropped from 25 to 21, while the total number of cases of students or staff members who tested positive also dropped this week, from 52 to 40.
Five new schools were added to the list this week, but that was offset by nine schools being removed from the list and being placed on a list for schools that have resolved their cases. To be moved to that list, 28 days must pass since the school's most recent onset.
Schools with no new cases for 56 days after the last case's onset will be removed from the weekly report completely.
