PORTLAND, Ore. — Two more people in Oregon have died from COVID-19, bringing the state’s death toll up to 21, state officials announced Thursday.
The two people died on Wednesday and they both had underlying health conditions. One was a 61-year-old man in Washington County. The other was a 91-year-old woman in Marion County.
The Oregon Health Authority on Thursday also announced 90 more cases. The people who tested positive live in the following counties.

People vulnerable to complications should follow federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations to stay home as much as possible and avoid gatherings. Every resident should take these basic steps to protect those most at risk:
- Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Stay home as often as possible and practice social distancing, keeping six feet between yourself and others.
