Homicide detectives found probable cause to arrest 18-year-old Wesley Lawrence Curtis (pictured, left) and 23-year-old Adam Lawrence Elder, said Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson.

Both men are homeless and were found and arrested separately on downtown Portland sidewalks Monday, Simpson said.

Curtis was jailed on a murder charge.

Elder was initially facing charges of third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, and failure to register as a sex offender. But those charges were dropped.
