KGW spoke with one of the developers having to eat that cost: Jim Delmore works for Stone Bridge Homes NW.

Delmore said it's normal for developers to deal with vandalism, and it usually costs them a couple thousand dollars, but this particular criminal was especially destructive.

"It is without a doubt the worst vandalism we've ever had," Delmore said.

Delmore said that the vandalism was the worst he's seen since joining Stone Bridge Homes NW almost 28 years ago.

“It's not like we can just turn that over to a buyer," explained Delmore. "If you contact your insurance, they can either drop you or raise your rates so much it becomes cost prohibitive."
