HENRIETTA, Texas (AP) — Two Oregon men have been arrested during a North Texas traffic stop when their SUV yielded nearly $1.3 million.
Clay County jail records show 36-year-old Shefeng Su and 35-year-old Xiancong Su were being held Saturday on money laundering charges.
Bond was $4 million each for the Portland, Oregon, men, whose vehicle was stopped early Thursday on U.S. 287 near Henrietta. That's about 90 miles northwest of Fort Worth.
Authorities say a drug-sniffing dog helped locate the bundles of cash. Investigators are trying to determine the source of the money and where the suspects were headed.
The sheriff's office did not immediately provide the reason for the traffic stop.
