SALEM, Ore. — Another teenager has been arrested in connection with the killing a family cat outside of a Salem home in early May.

Detectives arrested the third teenager, a 15-year-old boy, in northeast Salem on Wednesday, according to the Salem Police Department.

The teenager was charged with first-degree aggravated animal abuse, tampering with evidence and interfering with a peace officer, then transported to the Marion County Juvenile Department.

Last week, detectives identified two other teenagers, both 17, who were referred to the Marion County Juvenile Department. Both of them were charged with first-degree aggravated animal abuse. One of the teens was also charged with evidence tampering.

The suspect who shot the cat has not been identified, according to police, so the case remains an active investigation. Anyone with information can call the Salem Police Tips Line at 503‑588‑8477.
