Suspects face murder charges in death of woman killed in Costco parking lot

Before the deadly shooting investigators said the suspects carjacked a woman's Porsche at gunpoint.

TUKWILA, Wash. — Two suspects are facing murder charges after allegedly killing a woman in a Costco parking lot in Tukwila.

According to charging documents, the suspects carjacked a woman's Porsche at gunpoint on Jan. 26 and drove the stolen car to Costco. When the suspects arrived at the store, they tried to rob another woman of her purse, charging documents detailed. Police said one of the suspects fired one shot that killed Yuam Ming, 67.

The suspects fled in the stolen Porsche before officers arrived. Ming was pronounced dead just after 10:40 a.m., according to police.

About 20 minutes before the shooting, investigators said the suspects tried using the stolen debit and credit cards from the carjacking to purchase gift cards at a QFC in Normandy Park.

Less than a month after the shooting, police said one of the suspects was involved in another deadly shooting. Authorities said the suspect was chasing another vehicle in Kent when he fired multiple shots and killed one of the passengers.

“This was something that took months, and I think a lot of people don’t see a headline about a follow-up and wonder if anything is being done, but like most murder cases, this had a lot of behind-the-scenes work, including search warrants and investigative details,” said Casey McNerthney with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. “It certainly wasn’t ever forgotten by police or by prosecutors, and here we are now with these several felony charges.”

The suspects will be arraigned on charges this week. Prosecutors requested a $5 million bail because of the danger they present to the community.
