ST. HELENS, Ore. – A St. Helens High School teacher was arrested on accusations of sexual abuse involving a 17-year-old girl.
Kyle Wroblewski, 44, was booked into the Columbia County Jail on charges of third-degree sexual abuse, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and official misconduct. He may face additional charges.
St. Helens police said it was alerted to “concerning behaviors” regarding Wroblewski on Thursday and arrested him later in the day. No other details about the abuse were released.
The St. Helens School District says in a statement on its website that Wroblewski, who teaches social studies, has been placed on leave.
“The St. Helens School District’s first priority is the safety and well-being of our students and we do not tolerate any behaviors that place our students in danger. He will not be allowed on campus until our inquiry is complete,” the district’s statement reads.
An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call St. Helens police detective Dustin King at 503-397-1521.
