Sheriff's office seeks help identifying 7 people who may be connected to shooting at Clackamas mall

The shooting happened April 7, following an altercation at Clackamas Town Center outside Cheesecake Factory.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) is asking the public to help them identify seven people who are possibly connected to a shooting outside the Cheesecake Factory at Clackamas Town Center on April 7.

Around 6 p.m. on April 7, deputies responded to reports of an altercation and gunfire between two groups in the parking lot on the south side of the mall. When deputies arrived, they did not find anyone who was involved in the incident or anyone who was injured. They did see shell casings in the parking lot and damage to a window at the Cheesecake Factory.

CCSO said one person with a gunshot wound arrived at a hospital in the Portland metro area later after the shooting incident. On Wednesday, the sheriff's office confirmed that person's injuries did happen during the shooting. The injuries weren't life-threatening and investigators were able to interview the person.

"Because of the violence there, it makes me worry that at any given moment people could act a certain way," said Maxwell Eshelman, who lives and works nearby.

Telijah Hart, who also works nearby, also thinks that Clackamas Mall needs tighter security after this incident.

"The fact that it was seven people that's very scary," said Hart. "The fact that they are still looking for them that is scarier."

On Tuesday, CCSO released images of seven people it said may be connected to the shooting. The sheriff's office said it wants to contact these seven individuals as part of its ongoing investigation.
