PORTLAND, Ore. — A foot doctor in Portland was indicted earlier this month by a grand jury on charges of sex abuse including two female patients, and investigators believe there may be more victims, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) reported Monday.

Dr. Brian M. Bowen, 49, is accused of fondling two women during exams at the podiatry practice Eastside Foot & Ankle, located on Northeast 44th Avenue in Portland. The Portland Police Bureau's Sex Crimes Unit began investigating Bowen in September 2022 when a woman came forward. A second woman was reportedly assaulted in January 2023, according to police.

The case was presented to a grand jury, which indicted Bowen on Dec. 6. He faces the following charges:

  • Second-degree sex abuse (one count)
  • Third-degree sex abuse (three counts)

Police said this is an ongoing investigation. PPB and the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office ask that any other patients who had similar experiences with Bowen please come forward. PPB released a photo of Bowen to help in locating additional victims.

Anyone with information about crimes involving Bowen is asked to contact Detective Sean Harris at sean.harris@portlandoregon.gov or 503-823-0838. Please reference case number 22-236740.
