PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland police are investigating a shooting that happened early Thursday morning, which sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries.
At around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting along West Burnside Street near the entrance to Chinatown in Portland's Old Town neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found one person suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, who was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. Portland police said the injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
A short while later, officers spotted and stopped a "suspicious vehicle" at the intersection of Northeast 41st Street and Northeast Halsey Street. Portland police said four people were taken into custody, but one was later released. The other three remain in custody for questioning.
So far, no additional information has been released on the suspects in custody, or the identity of the person shot.
Portland Police's Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) is currently investigating the shooting.
