AAA Oregon & Idaho advises people to protect their vehicles by keeping valuables out of sight and parking in well-lit areas. They say don't leave the keys in or near your car, and don't leave the area while your vehicle is running, even for a quick errand. Also, be sure to close and lock all doors and windows when parked to prevent quick and easy access.
