PORTLAND, Ore. — Twelve people were arrested and 10 of those were charged with distributing fentanyl during a Portland Police Bureau and Oregon State Police operation in mid-July.
During the operation on July 17, police seized 243.3 grams of powdered fentanyl, 2.6 grams of methamphetamine, one firearm and $2,131 in U.S. currency. Twelve people were arrested, with 10 charged for distributing fentanyl:
- Charles Thomas, 33, charged with distribution of a controlled substance regarding fentanyl
- Casey Caebe, 36, arrested on an outstanding warrant
- Shafi Mursal, 36, charged with distribution of a controlled substance regarding fentanyl
- Herdiese Bates, 41, charged with distribution of a controlled substance regarding fentanyl
- Baker Mursal, 32, charged with felon in possession of a firearm and arrested on outstanding warrants
- Isais Mercado, 31, charged with distribution of a controlled substance regarding fentanyl, giving false information, and an outstanding warrant
- Oliverio Martinez, 27, charged with distribution of a controlled substance regarding fentanyl and attempted escape
- Michael Karim, 23, charged with distribution of a controlled substance regarding fentanyl
- Daryl Johnson, 49, charged with distribution of a controlled substance regarding fentanyl
- Cameron Cain, 26, charged with distribution of a controlled substance regarding fentanyl and menacing
- Amanda Cabrales, 34, charged with distribution of a controlled substance regarding fentanyl
- Alfredo Perez-Rendon, 27, charged with distribution of a controlled substance regarding fentanyl and outstanding warrants
During the operation, Martinez attempted to escape from arresting officers but was later apprehended.
Out of the arrests, three are from Portland, two from Beaverton, as well as others from Aloha, Milwaukie and Tualatin. Oregon State Police said the residences of the other four people arrested are unknown.
