PORTLAND, Ore. — One person is currently being hospitalized after being stabbed in Portland's King Heights Neighborhood, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
On Wednesday, at around 3:15 p.m. Portland police responded to reports of someone stabbed near 2300 Northwest Flanders Street Portland. Officers were able to tend to the victim while other officers search the area for the suspect. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and at this time there's no indication that the injuries are life threatening, PPB said.
Portland police said they were able to find the suspect, Zachary Kelso, 35, near Northwest Flanders Street and Northwest Westover Road. Kelso was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on two counts of Assault in the First Degree.
No details regarding what circumstances lead to the stabbing, or the nature of the relationship between the victim and suspect.
Detectives assigned to PPB’s Major Crimes Unit responded and are leading the investigation.
