PORTLAND, Ore. — Police arrested multiple people Wednesday as part of a drug enforcement mission in Portland's downtown and Old Town area.
Early in the mission, officers arrested multiple people on drugs and in possession of a stolen vehicle, according to a statement from the Portland Police Bureau. The suspects were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Because of outstanding warrants, they were not eligible for deflection.
Later Wednesday, investigators and officers conducted a search warrant at the home of a drug dealer operating in downtown. There they arrested 43-year-old Khuong Huyna Ta and seized evidence including two stolen guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, $6,146 in cash, 2.4 pounds of powdered fentanyl, 332 "M-30" counterfeit oxycodone pills and three ounces of methamphetamine.
Ta now faces multiple charges including felon in possession of a firearm and delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
Portland Police Bureau said the mission’s goal was to address neighborhood livability concerns caused by the criminal activity and open-air drug use in the area.
